Cold & Wet

A friend of mine wanted to get an entry level dslr, was browsing around with him in the city. He finally settled for a Sony. I myself was kinda impressed with the Sony.

Yesterday, I set out to the city with him and another friend. 3 of us using different brands, Canon, Nikon and Sony lol. It seemed like a bad idea at first because it was gloomy and raining. However we realized the rain made the road wet which gave us pretty interesting relfections.

Guess it wasn't all that bad after all since the only time Melbourne rains this heavy is around this time of the year. Check out the shots, I was also testing out my tripod. It was bloody cold cause of the wind but I guess the few good shots I got out of it was worth it.

My fav pic of this series.

Hung my camera close the ground and fire blindly. I'm liking how all the pix I took using this "technique" turns out.

Enlightenment

Almost everyone's been asking me about the Swine flu situation over here and honestly speaking as someone who don't keep up much with the news here I really don't see much difference. Don't see anyone wearing masks. Places are still crowded and all.

I went to Salvador Dali's art exhibition few days ago. For those that don't know who he is, he's one of the greatest painter/artist. Picasso even praised of him when he was young. He can paint like the great renaissance masters but he is better known for his surrealist work.

Dali with his signature moustache

gungrave
Probably his most famous work..

gungrave

gungrave
Shows he can paint with renaissance like realism. This piece is crazy..almost 2 storey high!

His work is mind blasting! You can search his pix online or see it on print in books but let me tell you it doesn't do justice to the real thing at ALL. The detail, the color, everything is awesome. He's a real genius.

Anyways, here are some pretty light pix. Some installation at Fed Square. Sound and light thing, reacts to motion or weight or something..

Boyce Avenue

Another youtube sensation. I came across them quite long ago. In fact I think I mentioned them before here, but I came across them again and saw that they did more acoustic covers. Really awesome stuff as I love acoustic versions of songs. Here are some of my fav:

Cover of Omarion's Ice Box.

Cover of The Killer's Mr.Brightside

Cover of Rihanna's Disturbia

Using one of it as my wallpaper as it fits my minimal b&w theme. Not high res, but it'll do.

Wedding Photos

Pretty old stuff, but I realized I didn't post them up. These were the pix I took for Nicole's sis, Carmen. Hope you don't mind me posting it up =p

Pity I wasn't free to shoot for the wedding dinner as well. That would have been fun.

Talking bout photography, I'm thinking of getting a tripod and lens filters. Good time to try out different kind of photography and hopefully improve my skills. But then again there's so many things I want to do this break, competitions and all but at the same time all I to do is just stay in my room and sleep. I don't like winter..

Ballarat ( Sovereign Hills)

It's been a character of my blog to have loads of pictures that'll take some of you ages to load. Seems that the past few text heavy posts have been pretty uncharacteristic of my blog. Now that I'm finally on hols, here are some pix I took some time ago.

The artistic shots first!:

Super low angle shot...

That ray of light was edited, but thought it was an interesting touch.

Shadow
That's it. On hols now, but don't know what to do really. It's cold and with the Swine flu about, everyone's staying home. Applied for some casual photography jobs, it's a long shot since I'm not a photography major but thought I should give it a try before I go for the usual IT or F&B part-times.

ARGHHH

Had a bad day. Long story cut short, I was running out of space on my laptop. Well not really, its cause just need to keep 50% of the available space free because of my work. So I got myself a Western Digital HD. I wanted to keep my files safe.

Buuuut theeeeennn, while I was shuffling my files about to free space, all of a sudden I accidentally cleared an ENTIRE drive in my laptop. It happened so quickly and all my files were gone. It skipped the recycle bin because it was too large. Bloody ironic can? I wanted to keep my files safe and this happens.

That whole drive was exclusively for my music files. My TREASURED music collection!!! OMFGKNNCCBTLAMHKC!!! That's thousands and thousands of songs! My Dance music collection, ASOT Tracks, Ayumi albums, Shiina Ringo albums, the Trentemoller tracks I took so long to find!! argghhhh the horror!

This is the last of the series of bad things that happened to me. It's probably cause I'm so tired & sick (I prolly sneezed 3.8 billion times) that caused me to do this mistake.

ANYWAYS, I downloaded a data recovery program. Yeah, how many of you know that you can still recover stuff you "permanently" deleted. That's probably how the Edison Chen pix came about lol.

In the end, I managed to salvage most of my songs. Took a whole night. A fair bit of them are lost and damaged though. I would play say, Beyonce - Halo and The Gazette will come out for abit, Daft Punk for abit and so on. Like some messed up mash up. In fact I just played what's supposed to be Ayumi Hamasaki's Endless Story and I heard fuckmefuckmefuckme, LOL I have absolutely NO fucking idea which song was that from!. I don't even think I've heard that song before. Hm..I MIGHT have too many songs.

Guess I have to start downloading & visiting cd stores. Well if I have fast & unlimited internet access, it'll be a piece of cake but noOoOoo... BAH.

Song of the day: Nil
